Swim Diapers by Imse Vimse are made of soft nylon with a waterproof layer. Gentle elastic at legs and waist to keep any messes well contained. Can be worn by itself or under a swimsuit. Available in a variety of adorable prints. Snaps on one side for easy removal.
These Cloth Swim Diapers do not contain any absorbent material, since once that gets wet, it leads to a very saggy diaper that weighs baby down. If your child won't be in the water right away you can stick a hemp insert, or something similar in the diaper to get a little absorbency. Just remember to remove it before they go swimming.
This is my swim diaper of choice. They are very soft and stretchy - feels like regular swimsuit fabric. But they are snug around the waist and legs to contain any messes. Most public pools require something over a disposable swim diaper, since those will not hold in solid waste sufficiently. These swim diapers are suitable for use in public swimming pools.
